School Pediatric Nurse (LPN/RN)

Job Description

As a School Nurse with Always Compassionate Home Care, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students by delivering personalized 1:1 healthcare services in a school environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our young patients while fostering a safe and nurturing atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Health Assessments: Conduct comprehensive health assessments and screenings for students in accordance with their individual care plans, including monitoring vital signs and assessing overall well-being.

Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications to students as per physician orders, ensuring accurate dosage and proper documentation. Collaborate with parents/guardians and school staff as needed.

Health Education: Offer health education and guidance to students, parents, and school staff on various topics, such as managing chronic conditions, medication administration, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Emergency Response: Provide immediate first aid and emergency care to students in case of injuries or medical emergencies, following established protocols and seeking additional medical assistance when necessary.

Health Records: Maintain meticulous and confidential health records for each student under your care, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Keep accurate records of all nursing activities, incidents, and communications, and submit timely reports to the agency and school as required.

Salary: $35/hr LPN; $45/hr RN

Job Requirements:

  • Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License & Registration
  • Active BLS Certification
  • Up-to-Date Phyiscal Health Assessment
  • PPD, Chest X-Ray, or QuantiFERON Gold TB Blood Results
  • MMR/Titers Lab Report
  • Two Forms of Government Issued ID
